Within the creativity, innovation, and sustainability aspects of the sector, risk management and the eliminability of unforeseen impacts represent a new research area that is foreseen to emerge as a side effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. The importance of risk avoidance related to the processes of modern tourism needs to be re-evaluated. The greatest challenges for experts include creative brainstorming, sustainability, and the exploitation of think tank results in a way which-beyond the positive results-can also foster the commitment and responsibility of professionals and researchers to the future of tourism. Many practical solutions using innovative technologies that were developed thanks to the processes of digitalization are widespread today and can support the regeneration of these critical processes as soon as possible. The main reason behind this is that culture and heritage represent primary starting points that can be reassessed with novel and resilient approaches. ![]() Instead of focusing on novel solutions and future opportunities, decision-makers in the sector are looking to the past for the core values of tourism. ![]() Nowadays, the tourism sector is facing one of the greatest challenges of its modern-day history (hotels, restaurants, attractions, products, etc.). ![]() ![]() ![]() There are still plenty of films I’d like to do, but I really need to go back into the Batcave for a while to work out which one.” Cut Snake is in cinemas now. The outcome of this action will lead to betrayal and murder, with Sparra forced to battle not just Pommie, but his own private demons, to save Paula and himself. “I’m about to work on a series of Barracuda for the ABC, we’ve got a new show for Channel 7 coming out soon and I’ve just finished The Family Law for SBS, so all of that TV takes up a lot of my time. The décor and costumes are from all sorts of periods as we live with history… And then there’s David Essex’s Rock On.” A classic song, but was there any concern that it should have been replaced by an Australian track ? “We had a lot of other Australian songs in there… The reality is that a lot of Australian songs have already been used in Australian movies, so there actually aren’t a great deal left.” Ayres is involved in a huge number of productions for the smallscreen, with another series of Glitch a possibility (“We hope!”) and plenty more. He gave it his all and he was so committed… He makes that character so compelling, and really we haven’t seen someone like him on screen before.” Alex Russell as ‘Sparra’ is also singled out for praise, and then there’s Jessica De Gouw as Paula, whom Ayres says is “brilliant in a difficult role” and then goes further, explaining, “They all went beyond the call of duty.” He’s also pleased with the film’s mid-70s detail (it’s set in 1974) and soundtrack, and states, “The mistake people make when they do ‘period’ like this is that they make everything ‘70s, which is wrong. It’s like ‘mad as a meat axe’, although the title Meat Axe doesn’t have the same resonance.” Ayres also notes that the production of the film, from first drafts of the script to the final cut, was “embarrassingly long… I first encountered the script in 2002 when it was Blake Ayshford’s first… I then saw Blake over the years but didn’t get involved again until 2009, when another director fell off the project and I became involved as I’d always loved the script, especially the relationship drama at the core.” Noting that he was lucky with the casting, Ayres says there was no danger that Sullivan Stapleton would make ex-con Pommie too over-the-top: “I’m in awe of Sullivan’s performance. “We premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year and the recurring question among the audience was, ‘What does Cut Snake mean?’… We just wanted it for this film as it seemed so appropriate. Tony Ayres begins the following interview by commenting on the huge amount of films and TV series he’s worked on in the past few years (“It’s been crazy times – and it continues to be!”), but what I want to know about his latest feature film, Cut Snake, is if anyone was concerned about having that uniquely Australian term as its title. ![]() ![]() ![]() He was caught off guard when Belzebuth's protective enchantments kicked in and though he was able to easily destroy the astral projection, Michael lost track of Amira. Truss layout had to be manipulated for the final exterior appearance to be balanced and spaced equally. ![]() Were doing a project, with 3 inch cedar tails (24 inch overhang), and they are thru bolted eight times in 6 feet of length onto the truss. Even if you add the tails to the trusses, you are going to be subject to the layout of the truss in whaich you sister onto. Trusses are generally 2x4 or 6 material (in this area), and the contractor/builder specifies a different 'over the wall' size a 2x10 or 12 as the tail that can be altered on site to get the decoration.Įxposed rafter tails is a complicated system, especially with a truss layout. And I have even seen them done in trusses. If in a larger material (e.g., post and beam/timber frame), they are created at the factory. If they are in 2x material, the carpenter generally does it right there, on site, from the rough 2x stock. In my experience, fancy, 'detailed' rafter tails are designed and determined beforehand. I'm not trying to give you a hard time.but your to this old framer, your post is very confusing as to what you're trying to achieve, and what someone is telling you can and can't be done. I'm not sure I'm following you at all do you have trusses or rafters? You wanted fancy tails, okay.what is specified in the contract? What is in the plans and in the specs? The tails have to be DOVETAILED into the existing roof trusses? I don't think so. ![]() I would love to know what your experience is with this.anyone? with a sassy modern look.hey, I'm not making this up (my landscape designer told me this today). Has anyone else experienced this? What are you doing about your rafter tails? My home is a Med. that's 6K I had no idea I was going to spend. The cost is approximately $60 per "tail". I had to go to the local lumber mill (dixieline) and give them the drawing for the rafter tail design. I am writing this thread to inform you, if you want the look, it takes more planning then to just say, yeah, that looks good, do it. The length of the "tail" has to be a 3 -1 measurement, this will equate to approximately a 6 foot "tail" that needs to be dovetailed onto the existing roof truss. I need about 100 rafter tails around my house. It's a lot of work and the added decorative measure can really add up. The rafter tails, if you want them decorative have to be dovetailed into the roof trusses/beams that run the slant range of the roof. I had originally specified I wanted some sort of decorative rafter tails, but I thought the roof trusses/beams just came that way.īoy was I wrong. ![]() So here we are, finally framing in the second story of our home and I get a call from the framer asking me about the rafter tails. ![]() ![]() Make sure to provide a fallback that provides a good user experience by either opening the default browser or using your own WebView implementation.
